The MBBS admissions of nearly 800 students last year (June-September 2004) through the management quota in private colleges is invalid but the State Government prefers to turn a blind eye to this, the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) charged on Tuesday.
Addressing a press conference, ABVP national executive council member D S Krishna said that the Parishat plans to raise the issue of these invalid admissions in the Supreme Court (SC), when it takes up the issue of seat-sharing between private colleges and the government on July 4.
Both the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) and the Justice Venkataraman Committee on Admissions have found major lapses in admissions in all 27 colleges.
Barring seven colleges, replica prada, the remaining didnt even furnish a rank list of the students admitted and most colleges didnt admit students who have written an entrance test. This violates the SCs earlier orders, said Mr Krishna.
The students group plans to use this data in its defence in the SC, arguing that the government and colleges have not kept their promise of merit-based admissions. Hence, a joint memo of 50:50 seat-sharing between management and government does not make sense if either party violates the key issue of merit, Mr Krishna said.
In all, students who dont belong to minority communities have been admitted in 12 minority colleges based on false certificates from Revenue officials.
Colleges fined
Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) officials said colleges have been fined Rs 1 lakh for every invalid admission, before the admissions can be approved.
The decision was taken in May-end,Designer Replica Handbags, as a one-time measure as MBBS admissions were steeped in confusion last year.
The colleges are yet to respond to the levy, and the first year exams are slated for August.
